Che Guevara Revisited
Che Guevara is an enduring image of the "revolutionary" man. A man molded out of steel willing to give his life in sacrifice for a cause. He believed that the only way to win the freedom of the Americas was to pick up a gun and fight. And by the gun, he fell.
How human was this man? This is a bold question I know, but I wonder it. So maybe other people are wondering it too.
How human was Che Guevara?
We romantize the man, the myth and the legend.
But how much did he bleed when he died.
How far did he swim across the divide
to reach the other side.
How fast did he run to meet his fate,
struggling for every breath to take.
To fight so valiently for another man's soul
To die so bravely to keep his own.
